At the very time

they were slaying the lambs

for the Passover

20 thousand

blood running red

knee deep

in the Kidron valley

enough for the 2 million souls

in Jerusalem that day

Jesus hung pierced

and beaten

blood running red

at the foot

of the cross

as deep

as the ocean

enough

Good Friday

the altar cross

stripped

naked

“It is finished.”

Jesus hung upon the cross

To save us from our sin

That gives us life within
